About Me

Hi, I'm Raven — the founder of East Bay Online Tutoring. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, East Bay, and I've spent my career working directly with students who learn differently. As a Behavior Technician and Program Leader, I support kids with diverse learning needs every day — implementing behavior intervention plans, working alongside BCBAs and special education teams, and helping students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. My background spans special education classrooms, resource programs, and after-school enrichment settings across the East Bay. I've worked one-on-one and in small groups with students on IEPs, supported academic instruction in English/language arts, math, and science, and partnered closely with teachers, families, and specialists to make sure every student gets support that actually fits how they learn.

My Approach

I believe every student can grow when they're met with patience, structure, and genuine belief in their potential. My tutoring style draws on applied behavior analysis principles and individualized instruction — I pay close attention to what motivates each student, track progress along the way, and adjust my approach as needed rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method. I also know that learning doesn't happen in isolation. I work to build real relationships with the students and families I support, and I bring a culturally responsive, family-centered mindset to every session.

Why I Do This Work

I've seen firsthand how the right support at the right moment can change a student's relationship with learning. Whether it's helping a child manage frustration during a tough assignment, breaking down a concept in a way that finally clicks, or simply being a consistent, encouraging presence — that's the work I love, and it's why I started East Bay Online Tutoring. I'm certified in CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter training, and I hold ongoing training in behavior support and crisis de-escalation, so families can feel confident their child is in capable, caring hands. Let's work together to help your student thrive.
