Refund Policy

At East Bay Online Tutoring, we are committed to providing high-quality tutoring services. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued for our services.
1. General Refund Policy
All sales are final once tutoring services have been rendered. We do not offer refunds for completed tutoring sessions or packages after the first session has been used.
2. Single Session Refunds
Single Sessions ($65/hour):
• Before the session: If you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled session, you may receive a full refund or credit toward a future session
• Less than 24 hours before: No refund will be issued
• After the session is completed: No refund will be issued
• No-shows: If you fail to attend your scheduled session without canceling, no refund will be issued
3. Package Refunds
4-Session, 8-Session, and 12-Session Packages:
• Before first session: If you have not yet used any sessions from your package, you may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase
• After first session is completed: No refunds will be issued for the remaining sessions in your package
• Partial refunds: We do not offer partial refunds for unused sessions after the first session has been completed
• Expired packages: Sessions that expire after 180 days (6 months) are non-refundable
4. Satisfaction Guarantee
First Session Trial:
If you are unsatisfied with your first tutoring session, please contact us within 24 hours of the session completion. We will:
• Review your concerns
• Offer to reschedule with a different approach
• Consider a refund on a case-by-case basis
We want you to be satisfied with our services. Please communicate any concerns early so we can address them.
5. Cancellation by Student/Client
How to Cancel:
• Contact us at support@eastbayonlinetutoring.com
• Or cancel through your booking dashboard
• At least 24 hours before your scheduled session
Cancellation Timeline:
• 24+ hours before session: Full refund or credit issued
• Less than 24 hours: No refund; session is forfeited
• No-show: No refund; session is marked as complete
6. Cancellation by Tutor
If we must cancel your session:
• You will receive full credit for that session
• The session will not count toward your package
• We will work with you to reschedule at a mutually convenient time
• If we cannot provide a suitable alternative, a full refund will be issued
7. Technical Issues
If technical difficulties prevent a session from taking place:
• On our end: Full credit or refund will be issued
• On your end: No refund, but we will work with you to reschedule if possible
• Both parties should make reasonable efforts to resolve technical issues during the scheduled session time
8. Refund Processing
Timeline:
• Approved refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days
• Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for purchase
Method:
• Credit card refunds: 5-10 business days
• PayPal refunds: 3-5 business days
• Other payment methods: As specified by the payment processor
9. Non-Refundable Circumstances
No refunds will be issued in the following situations:
• Sessions completed as scheduled
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance
• No-shows or missed appointments
• Sessions used from a package after the first session
• Expired package sessions (after 180 days from purchase)
• Dissatisfaction not communicated within 24 hours of the first session
• Violation of our Terms and Conditions or inappropriate conduct
• Technical issues on the client's end (internet, device, etc.)
10. Package Expiration
• All session packages expire 180 days (6 months) from the date of purchase
• Unused sessions cannot be refunded, extended, or transferred after expiration
• It is your responsibility to use sessions before they expire
• Expiration date reminders will be sent via email
11. Schedule Changes
Rescheduling is encouraged instead of cancellation:
• Reschedule up to 24 hours in advance at no charge
• Sessions can be rescheduled to any available time slot
• Rescheduling does not extend package expiration dates
12. Special Circumstances
We may consider refunds on a case-by-case basis for:
• Medical emergencies (documentation may be required)
• Family emergencies
• Extenuating circumstances beyond your control

13. Disputes
If you dispute a charge or have concerns about a refund:

4. Most concerns can be resolved through direct communication
Before filing a chargeback with your bank or credit card company, please contact us directly so we can address your concerns.
14. Promotional Offers and Discounts
• Promotional discounts and special offers are subject to their own terms
• Refunds on promotional pricing follow the same policies outlined above
• Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to completed sessions
15. Gift Certificates and Referral Credits
• Gift certificates and referral credits are non-refundable
• Credits must be used within their specified expiration period
• Credits cannot be exchanged for cash
16. Changes to Refund Policy
• We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time
• Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date
• Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance
• Refunds for services purchased before policy changes will follow the terms in effect at the time of purchase
